Alchemy is the infrastructure layer through which applications, banks, and payment systems connect to blockchains. Founded in 2017 in San Francisco. A developer connects to a single API and gets access to more than 100 networks at 99.99% availability, plus ready-made wallets, gas sponsorship on the user's behalf, transaction history, and the ability to launch their own layer-2 network. The company is called "the AWS of blockchain": more than $1T in transactions a year runs through its infrastructure, serving over 100 million users. Revenue is roughly $447M with a headcount of about 300. The current $10.2B valuation was set by a $200M Series C1 in February 2022 and has not been revised since; roughly $564M has been raised in total.

Key highlights
- AI agents needed a way to pay, and Alchemy turned out to be in the right place. On June 18, 2026 the company unveiled AgentCard — a virtual card and digital identity for AI agents, running on the Visa Intelligent Commerce network.
- The valuation has not moved in four and a half years while the business grew several times over. The company has not raised capital since February 2022, and its value is still measured from the $10.2B mark.
- Large financial institutions have stopped experimenting and started building. Alchemy became one of the infrastructure providers for the Solana Developer Platform, whose first users were Mastercard, Worldpay, and Western Union — payment networks' settlement flows depend only weakly on asset prices.
- The company has taken a position in the environment where code is now written. The Alchemy plugin for Claude Code shipped on June 22, 2026, an MCP server opening all of the platform's interfaces to an AI assistant on July 1, and rate-limit usage viewing straight from the command line on July 2.
