About The Boring Company

Designs and manufactures the Prufrock series of tunnel boring machines and builds underground transit tunnels, including the Vegas Loop. Spun off from SpaceX in 2018.

The Boring Company is an American infrastructure company, founded in 2017, headquartered in Bastrop, Texas. It makes its own tunnel boring machines and uses them to build the underground Loop transport. The Las Vegas network was paid for by customers: the LVCVA tourism authority ordered the first line under the convention center for $48.7 million, and casinos Resorts World, Encore, Westgate, Fontainebleau, and Sahara paid for their stations themselves; in December 2025, stations opened at terminals 1 and 3 of Harry Reid Airport. Dubai ordered a pilot line of 6.4 km with four stations for Dh565 million ($154 million), a trip from DIFC to Dubai Mall will take three minutes, and the full network of 22 km and 19 stations is designed for 30,000 people per day. Series D, led by the UAE, took place at a valuation of $23 billion, with a total of approximately $3.9 billion raised.
