About Figure AI
General-purpose humanoid robots for logistics, warehousing, and eventually households. CEO Brett Adcock. Partnership with BMW (pilot at the Spartanburg plant), with OpenAI through 2025. Proprietary Helix VLA model since February 2025.
Figure builds a general-purpose humanoid robot. The same human-sized machine works on a car assembly line, sorts parcels in a warehouse, and tidies a room, because it is driven by Helix — a neural network trained on video — rather than a program written for one specific task. In February 2025 the company unveiled its own Helix model and ended its collaboration with OpenAI; a year later Helix 02 controls the robot's entire body and runs on two machines at once. Figure 03 was unveiled in October 2025, a production ramp was announced in April 2026, and in June the third-generation machine was delivered to BMW's plant. Current valuation is $39B from a Series C of more than $1B (September 2025); roughly $1.9B raised in total.

Key highlights
- Regulatory protection of the US market arrived in July 2026. The US administration banned imports of new Chinese humanoid robots on national-security grounds, cutting off US factories and warehouses from Unitree and UBTech machines priced under $10K.
- The product has moved from videos to deliveries. Figure 03 was unveiled in October 2025, a production ramp was announced in April 2026, and in June the third-generation machine was delivered to BMW's plant.
- The cost of the machine is falling faster than forecast. By Goldman Sachs' calculation, the price of a humanoid robot is dropping roughly 40% a year instead of the expected 15-20%; at Figure itself, the switch from milling to casting cut production of some parts from a week to 20 seconds.
- The company has moved to its own model. In February 2025 Figure unveiled Helix and ended its collaboration with OpenAI; a year later Helix 02 controls the robot's entire body and runs on two machines at once.
- Access to training data is broader than competitors'. The partnership with Brookfield opens up filming in more than 100,000 residential units and across 660 million square feet of offices and warehouses — and the bottleneck in training action models has long been the variety of recorded human labor, not compute.
