About Clay
Data-enrichment and sales-automation platform combining AI agents with 150+ data sources for prospect research and personalized outreach. In August 2025 the company raised $100M in a Series C at a $3.1B valuation led by CapitalG.
Clay brings more than 200 data providers on companies and people together in one place, adds research agents built on large language models, and lets a sales team assemble a working process with a mouse, without a developer. The platform is laid out like a spreadsheet: a row is a company or a person, and each column connects to one of the providers or to an agent. It replaces the old arrangement, which required subscriptions to several databases, scripts, and a dedicated analyst. Since March 2026 the meter has been split in two — provider data billed separately from platform actions. Current valuation is $5B from a secondary deal with DST (January 2026), against $3.1B in the August 2025 round; roughly $180M raised.

Key highlights
- The valuation is growing faster than the rounds, and the market confirms it. The last round closed in August 2025 at $3.1B, a secondary deal in January 2026 went at $5B, and in May 2026 shares traded at $16.13 against $10.63 in the round — a 52% premium.
- The March 2026 pricing rebuild directly raises margin. The single meter has been split in two — provider data billed separately from platform actions.
- The agentic wave hit competitors exactly at their weak point. The value of classic contact databases lies in the data itself, and it falls as agents learn to gather the same information from open sources.
- The multiple is coming down on its own, without a price drop. At the close of the Series C the valuation corresponded to roughly 44 times annual revenue; now it is about 33 — and that with the share price having doubled.
