About Flock Safety

License plate recognition cameras on solar panels, gunshot detectors and drones for police, integrated into the Flock OS platform. Revenue exceeded $300 million in 2024, the company faces cities refusing contracts.

Flock Safety is an American company supplying police with license plate recognition cameras, gunshot detectors, and drones, founded in 2017 in Atlanta. The network comprises approximately 120 thousand cameras in 49 states; the systems are used by over 4 800 police departments and almost a thousand companies, including FedEx warehouses and Home Depot stores. The city receives cameras, search capabilities, and drones by subscription for approximately $2 500 per year per camera and does not incur costs for equipment procurement. Drones reach the scene of a call in a time ranging from 30 seconds to four minutes. The 2025 round for $275 million, led by Andreessen Horowitz, took place at a valuation of $7.5 billion; a total of over $950 million has been raised.
