About Miro

Online whiteboard and visual collaboration platform for teams. The last primary round, a $400M Series C, closed in January 2022 at a $17.5B valuation; there have been no primary rounds since, and 2026 secondary trades pointed to a materially lower valuation. Revenue is estimated at about $665M.

Miro is an infinite shared canvas on which distributed teams design a product, agree on a plan, and draw diagrams. Formerly RealtimeBoard, founded in 2011, headquartered in San Francisco, with more than 1,600 people and 14 offices. Since 2026 the company has been rebuilding the canvas into a place where employees work alongside artificial intelligence: at the Canvas 26 conference in May 2026 it shipped Sidekicks agents and Flows chains with ready-made connections to Slack, Atlassian, and GitHub. 100 million people and 250,000 organizations use the platform. The last primary round closed in January 2022; $473M raised across four rounds.

Key highlights

  1. The pivot to artificial intelligence has already happened in the product, not in a slide deck. At the Canvas 26 conference in May 2026 the company shipped Sidekicks agents, automatic Flows chains with ready-made connections to Slack, Atlassian, and GitHub, and opened the canvas to reading and writing by third-party agents.
  2. The company embedded itself in other people's entry points instead of fighting for its own. In February 2026 an MCP server shipped, and Miro became a built-in connection in ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot — the canvas reaches the user where they already work with artificial intelligence.
  3. The management team has been rebuilt around growth. In March 2026, along with the acquisition of Reforge, Brian Balfour joined as chief growth officer and Tom Willerer as chief strategy officer — both ran Reforge and specialize in the mechanics of growth at product companies.
  4. The 2022 mark has not been updated in four and a half years, and the repricing has not yet been formalized. The last primary round closed in January 2022 at 26 times annual revenue, while public companies in the collaboration segment, after the 2022-2023 repricing, trade at low single-digit multiples of annual revenue.
