About Nuro
Develops the Nuro Driver Level-4 autonomous driving system and licenses it to automakers, ride-hailing operators, and fleet operators. Started with its own driverless delivery vehicles, shifted to a platform model in 2024.
Nuro — an American developer of autonomous driving systems, founded in 2016 by former employees of Google's self-driving program, headquartered in Mountain View. It does not build its own vehicles: it licenses Nuro Driver to automakers and taxi services. The system has driven over 2 million miles in autonomous mode and is installed on 10 car models. Uber licensed it for a fleet of 35,000 robotaxis on Lucid Gravity SUVs, with the San Francisco Bay Area becoming the first city; according to TechCrunch, Uber's commitments, along with participation in the round, amount to approximately $500 million. The company gained driverless experience since 2018 in deliveries for Kroger and Domino's. The Series E in August 2025 took place at a valuation of $6 billion, with a total of $2.3 billion raised.
