About Epirus
Develops a solid-state gallium nitride Leonidas microwave cannon that disables a drone swarm with a single pulse. The US Army ordered six IFPC-HPM systems, the Marine Corps a mobile HAVOC.
Epirus is an American developer of microwave weapons against drones, founded in 2018 in Torrance, California. The Leonidas system strikes a swarm with a directed electromagnetic pulse: during tests, a swarm of 49 drones fell from a single pulse, whereas an interceptor missile costs hundreds of thousands of dollars per shot. The U.S. Army ordered six Leonidas systems for $110 million — four prototypes in 2023 for $66.1 million and two second-generation systems in 2025 for $43.5 million; the Marine Corps purchased the mobile HAVOC version. In January 2026, a memorandum was signed with Singapore's defense agency DSTA. A Series D round for $250 million led by 8VC and Washington Harbour took place in March 2025, with a total of $537 million raised.
