About Zipline

Operator of autonomous drone logistics and delivery, having surpassed 2M commercial deliveries of medicine and goods. In January 2026 the company raised over $600M in a Series H led by Valor Equity Partners at a $7.6B valuation, adding another $200M in March 2026.

Zipline builds autonomous drone delivery networks: a fixed-wing aircraft launches from a catapult, flies up to 80 km, and drops the package by parachute without landing. Founded in 2014 in South San Francisco. Starting with blood deliveries in Rwanda, the company has completed 2.5 million commercial deliveries — more than everyone else in the industry combined — and is bringing the same model to American cities. The second million deliveries took one year, against nine years for the first million. It has accumulated 135 million autonomous commercial kilometers with no injury incidents. Current valuation is $7.8B from an $800M Series H (March 23, 2026); $1.78B raised in total.

Key highlights

  1. The delivery model has stopped being experimental and become industrial. The second million deliveries took one year against nine years for the first million, and weekly growth in the US held at around 15% for seven consecutive months.
  2. The management team for scaling was assembled in July 2026. A CFO from Tesla, a general counsel from Waymo, and a chief commercial officer from Uber arrived at the same time — the kind of hiring done for a listing and aggressive regional expansion.
  3. The regulatory barrier has already been cleared and works in the company's favor. 135 million autonomous commercial kilometers with no injury incidents is something money cannot buy, and it determines the queue for permits.
  4. The marketplace grew 13x in half a year. The number of venues available to order from through the company's app grew thirteenfold in the first half of 2026: growth in the number of sellers matters more than growth in deliveries, because it shows the model sells itself.
  5. The secondary market holds a 45% premium to the round price. The stock trades at $81.7 against $56.26 in March 2026 — a rarity for a private company, and a sign that the next round will most likely price higher.
